Nominate a CF member to the Honour Society

The mandate of the CCFCC Honour Society will be to represent and promote goodwill, social conscience and culinary excellence. The formation of the Honour Society shall be designed to enhance the CCFCC by recognizing leadership, professional excellence, significant contributions and lifetime commitment.

The Process:


1. Please review the criteria, outlined below. Verification will be required for each criteria.

2. If your desired nominee meets all of the criteria, TWO honour society members from your branch must agree to sponsor the application process:

a) The nominating branch/member will pay the initial application fee here.

b) The Honour Society committee will send the official nomination form to the sponsoring members

c) The sponsoring members will gather the supporting documents from the nominee, along with their letters of support, and upload all of these documents to our digital nomination form. All information must be received by January 15th for consideration in that year.

3. The Honour Society committee will review each application, and select up to five members each year. Successful nominees will be notified, and payment information for the induction fee will be shared. When more than 5 Applicants in a given year are forwarded for consideration, the preference will be Given to those who served on the National Board; or have a CCC; or MC designation; or Medaled in an International Culinary Competition representing one of our National Teams or functioned as a Team Manager or Fundraiser or an International Judge.

4. The committee will collect all necessary contact information, photos, credentials, etc. from the new inductees, who will be inducted to the honour society at the next induction gala.

Mandatory Requirements: (Candidate must meet all (6/6) requirements)

1. Must be in the culinary profession as a cook, working chef, or culinary educator at an accredited school for fifteen years or more. Ten of the fifteen years must have been as an executive chef. A culinary educator must have served five years as an executive chef in a full- service restaurant.

2. Must be a member of the CCFCC for a minimum of fifteen consecutive years. Must be a member in good standing and remain so to retain Honor Society Fellowship.

3. Must have attended any combination of four CCFCC regional conferences and/or national conventions.

4. Must show intent to attend Annual Honour Society Dinner and Induction Ceremony.

5. Must be sponsored by two voting Honour Society members. An Honour Society member is

permitted to sponsor one new applicant per year. Honour Society members must submit a

written recommendation of at least 100 words on the applicant’s behalf.

6. Nominee must submit a complete, typed resume which should cover all the above requirements.

Must submit two 5”x7” photos in white toque and white chef’s coat taken within the past year.

Elective Requirements: (Candidates must meet 14 of 20 requirements)

1. A member of the CCFCC National Board.

Note: Term has to be completed before application is submitted.

2. A member of the national CCFCC approved committee for a full term (24 consecutive months). Note: Term has to be completed before application is submitted.

3. A CCFCC national convention or regional conference chair, co-chair or approved Committee chair.

4. A competing Culinary Team member, coach, or manager of a national CCFCC or WACS approved competition.

5. A branch president for two years, who has participated in the President’s Day meeting

for two years. Note: Term must be completed before application is submitted.

6. An elected branch officer for two years, other than president. Note: Term must be completed before application is submitted.

7. A chair of an approved local branch standing committee for two years. Note: Term must be completed before application is submitted.

8. A chair or co-chair of a successful local, regional or national community service fundraising event (it must contribute and benefit continual improvements geared towards real life gains).

9. Responsible for bringing in at least ten new professional culinarians and active branch members within the last ten years.

10. The sponsoring chef is responsible for training and graduating any registered apprentice who completes a full two- or three-year program.

11. Has graduated from an accredited culinary school or culinary arts program with either an associate or bachelor’s degree, has graduated from an apprenticeship program or an internationally recognized school or apprenticeship program obtaining the Certificate of Qualification (C of Q) or the Certified Working Chef (CWC).

12. Voluntarily participated in regional or national culinary demonstrations within the past ten years. Note: Must be a culinary demonstration which is voluntary (except expenses).

13. Voluntarily served as the chair of an advisory board or served as a member of the board of trustees for a local culinary program other than your place of employment.

14. A recipient of a local CCFCC Branch Chef of the Year Please submit copy of certificate along with a letter from the chapter president.

15. A chair of a culinary art salon, cold-food competition or hot-food competition that has been pre approved by the CCFCC national office or WACS.

16. A winner of a CCFCC or WACS gold, silver, or bronze medal in a culinary competition.

17. A CCFCC-certified culinary judge.

18. The executive chef or executive pastry chef who is indicated on a featured “Gastronomique Menu,” the menu of an Honor Society dinner, Les Amis d’Escoffier dinner, Chaîne des Rôtisseurs dinner, Executive Chef, Sous chef or Banquet Chef of CCFCC Presidents’ Gala Dinner or any Honour Society style dinner.

19. A recipient of a CCFCC regional or national award, i.e. Chef of the Year, President’s Award, etc. Note: Awards not clearly defined as CCFCC regional or national awards do not qualify.

20. A recipient of CCC or CMC designation.

NOTE: Verification of the listed requirements and goals is the responsibility of the applicant prior to sending the application to the national Honour Society committee. The Honour Society committee will not be responsible for researching required information/documentation that is not already provided—if certain information is needed, the applicant may be able to obtain records from seven or fewer years back through the CCFCC national office. Falsifying documents will automatically exclude a candidate from the Honour Society for life.
